Monthly Archives: April 2012

The Rhododendrons, native and other varieties have started to bloom.  I love it when some writers use the word “riotous” to describe something as benign and serene as a garden, but there is something dervish about a profusion of bloom and color when the masses of flowers break out.

Another thought – wallflowers.  They’re anything but.  They’re cheerful and colorful and if they were invited to dance, I doubt they’d decline….   When you see a wallflower, ask it to dance and see what happens…
Yes, you can talk to plants.  I do.  They’re such good listeners and I think they like the feedback.

Green Cat Guest House

Emily Dickinson Stayed Here

Well, we wish she had.  and If she had, I think she would have liked it here…

As children bid the guest good-night,
     And the reluctant turn,
My flowers raise their pretty lips,
Then put their nightgowns on.

As children caper when they wake,
Merry that it is morn,
My flowers from a hundred cribs
Will peep, and prance again.
