Green Cat Guest House

As you might imagine, this pumpkin was from a few months ago.  We’re just now putting in our veg garden – !  The weather in The Great Northwest (particularly our little corner called Poulsbo) is now mellow, sunny and spring is in full swing! come visit us!  It’s a great time to stay – The Month of May…

Rest, now, Dan Russell.  The Green Cat and all here will miss you.

“I will arise and go, now, and go to Innisfree
and a small cabin build there of clay and wattles made.
Nine bean rows will I have there and and a place for the honeybee
and live alone in the bee-loud glade…

The Rhododendrons, native and other varieties have started to bloom.  I love it when some writers use the word “riotous” to describe something as benign and serene as a garden, but there is something dervish about a profusion of bloom and color when the masses of flowers break out.

Another thought – wallflowers.  They’re anything but.  They’re cheerful and colorful and if they were invited to dance, I doubt they’d decline….   When you see a wallflower, ask it to dance and see what happens…
Yes, you can talk to plants.  I do.  They’re such good listeners and I think they like the feedback.

Emily Dickinson Stayed Here

Well, we wish she had.  and If she had, I think she would have liked it here…

As children bid the guest good-night,
     And the reluctant turn,
My flowers raise their pretty lips,
Then put their nightgowns on.

As children caper when they wake,
Merry that it is morn,
My flowers from a hundred cribs
Will peep, and prance again.
